Acorn Agri and Food, an investment holding company focused on the agricultural value chain have acquired all the South African assets in 2016 of what was formerly known as Afrifresh. The name of the company was changed to ACG Fruit and various changes were made at executive level. The culture of the company has been changed from that of an exporter, which operates farms, to a farmer, which exports its produce.

ACG Fruit focuses on citrus and table grapes production in the Northern and Western Cape. The company cultivates about 259 ha of land which produces 1 335 000 cartons of table grapes and 100 000 cartons of citrus.
